About
If you’ve ever wished your iPad could feel like a sketchbook full of colored pencils — the grain, the tooth, the way color builds when you layer — this set is what I made for that feeling.
These 20 Procreate colored pencil brushes were built from real pencil textures I use in my own illustration work. Not procedurally generated. Not approximated. Actual scanned media from my studio, tuned until drawing with them felt like the real thing.
Pressure and tilt sensitivity respond naturally. The screen disappears. You just draw.
What’s in the Set (20 Brushes)
Shading & Color Building
-
Tilt Shader — Tilt your Apple Pencil to shade just like on paper. Light touch for light values, deeper tilt for rich shadows.
-
Creamy Pencil Shader — Layers build and saturate the way real pigment does. Great for deep shadows and burnished color.
-
Color Brightness Shift — Each stroke varies slightly in brightness automatically, giving you the organic variation of a real pencil without any manual adjustments.
-
Subtle Hue Shift — Slight color variation within each stroke — adds the complexity you see in traditional colored pencil work where the pigment is never perfectly uniform.
Details & Linework
-
Sharp Tip — That freshly-sharpened feeling. Precise and clean for tight details and fine lines.
-
Hard Pencil — Crisp, low-texture strokes for confident outlines and well-defined edges.
-
Finer Tooth — Slightly textured but controlled. Sits between soft and sharp for versatile everyday mark-making.
Blending & Coverage
-
Soft Core — Buttery smooth blending for transitions and soft edges.
-
Area Shader — Covers ground quickly while keeping that pencil texture. Ideal for laying in base tones.
-
Pattern Brushes (3) — Paper grain and texture overlays that add depth and dimension to your colored pencil work.
Finishing
-
Highlighter — Lifts brightness in a second pass without layer-switching or color-picking. Just draw over your work to pull out the highlights.
-
Spotlight Shader — Builds darker the more you layer on the same area, mimicking how real colored pencils saturate and deepen over multiple passes.
